It’s Monday.

Is Democrats’ anger with Joe Lieberman on the wane?

There are not enough doctors to make HUSKY work.

Day laborers are feeling the pinch as fewer jobs are now available to them.

The New York Times had a story yesterday about the Bristol Press.

Wind power in Connecticut? Maybe, maybe not.

Nancy Wyman for governor? …Really?

And finally, presidential electors will cast their votes today in Hartford.

What else is going on?

  1. good piece on the realities of CT wind. For the most part, solar is more cost effective in CT as an alt energy.

Or ground source heat pump. Or nuclear (alternative to CO2 producing fossil fuels, at least).

  4.
Or ground source heat pump
geothermal can be great, but as a heating / cooling mechanism, you need the right internal guts for your house… forced air, i think… right? And if you don’t have that, you need to buy it… making the geothermal relatively more expensive.

The benefit with geothermal is you get a one-time lawn destruction and you’re good to go. Solar electric / thermal may require permanent tree demolition.

  5. I don’t know about lately but Wyman and Blumenthal used to be pretty tight. If she’s really thinking about it, it could be an indication of tthat he’s decided he’s not interested.

You can use forced hot air or hot water with geothermal and lawn destruction can be minimal…you can get a lot of pipe down a fairly small hole. You’re right with the tree destruction on the solar though. A relative is now selling electricity back, but he had to cut down six mature tress to get there.

Hey, I have no problem with this type of effort, but shouldn’t it be done with private and not public funds?

Frankly, if the legislators can’t raise $600,000, privately, to replace this statute at the top of the State Capital, does that suggest something about the project’s importance, or lack thereof?

  8.
does that suggest something about the project’s importance, or lack thereof?
Well, it certainly isn’t as important as CTs Music Hall of Fame!

(uh-oh… I need to be quiet… or I may get crushed!)

  9. Dodd and Lieberman are polling below 50% and our “absentee” governor’s approval has plunged to 68%? Yeah, she’s really being hurt by the news about her schedule….

Interesting that the Courant headline doesn’t mention Rell, only Dodd/Lieberman.

  10. Staggering is Rell’s 62% approval rating among CT Dems. It shows how lame our Statehouse leadership has been, and also indicates a failure on the part of the State Party to make adequate arguments against the status quo and in favor of a Democratic governor.

So is TBCT for criticizing D and AS for criticizing R, or what?

  12. make adequate arguments against the status quo and in favor of a Democratic governor.

    Like what?

“We’ve damn-near bankrupted the state – help us finish the job, vote Democratic!”
