Updates Were Done

We’ve updated the blog software (finally) from WordPress 2.0.5 to the brand new WordPress 2.7!

You probably won’t be able to tell for most things. However, the update process completely destroyed some of our plugins, which I will be painstakingly recreating over the next couple of days.

Bleah. Anyway, enjoy your updated blog, and if you have any troubles (I, for instance, found myself unable to log in for about two hours after the update was done) please let me know!

  1. Can’t tell? The top right recent comments is way different…

  2. Yeah… I’m working on that.

Plus comment quoting seems to be gone.

Oh, well, it was still a lot less painful than I thought it would be.

  3. NEW: Comment live preview enabled–if you look beneath the comment box you’ll see a tiny preview of your comment, which will appear as you type! It’s actually surprisingly cool.

I know you’ve been wanting a comment preview feature, and this one is pretty neat.

Plus there is a new quoter feature. Just hover your mouse over a paragraph–it will be quoted if you click on it.

Let me know what you think. Re-installing the old Quoter plugin is possible, but a real pain in the a$$.

My preview is back and you’re going be in trouble,
Hey now, my preview is back!

Cool. Quote feature is fine, just want to make sure people know about it … might want to update Site Help when all is done.

The recent comment section is fine … it was just really noticeable.

Are the smiley 🙂 icons gone, or did I just forget how to use ’em?

  6. Oh. So the smile 🙂 and wink 😉 and who knows what other thingies don’t preview, but they show up when you post. Got it.

  7. Website looks good. What happened to the links for the Town pages?
