Senate Democrats Assign Committees

Senate Democrats assigned members to committees today. Said Sen. Williams:

“We’re preparing to go into battle next legislative session and I can’t think of a better team to share the foxhole with,” said Senator Williams. “Our shared enemy is an economic crisis that is hurting Connecticut families and blasting huge holes in the state budget. This is a defining moment for our nation and our state, and this team of dedicated public servants is ready to meet these challenges.”

  1. foxhole? blasting holes? Is this guy for real?

This is interesting. CT Senate Republicans hand Cappiello a job.

Any idea how much this “analyst” gig pays?

  3. Lots of sound bites, white noise, fluff and nonsense. What’s he gonna do besides holding out his hand for federal treats? Are there no reporters around the capitol?

  4. Sounds like good ol’ Donnie Boy (or his spokesman Slapp) caught the re-run of PATTON on TBS last weekend!

That’s some serious rhetoric….let’s hope Senator Williams can live up to it.

Judging from the past session and his “do nothing” approach to gov’t….it doesn’t seem likely.

  5. Any idea how much this “analyst” gig pays?

Hopefully less then a “Can I please have a Senate job because well you know, I am from a famous and very wealthy Democratic family, and after all didn’t an equally unqualified governor from Alaska just run for VP?” from NY pays.

  6. Don Williams is hard to take seriously. I expect a certain amount of rhetoric from politicians, but this guy is over the top. If you look at the committee assignments, you’ll see that underneath the empty rhetoric, DonnyBaby is a just another political hack. Joan Hartley lost her chairmanship on Higher Education, while ethically-challenged goons like Joe Crisco and Tom Gaffey kept their chairmanships. Same old, same old here in Corrupticut.

  7. Scoops—I don’t know how much Cappiello will be paid, but I’ll go out on a limb an venture to say that it won’t be as much as the Senate Dems pay former Rep. Ellen Scalettar ($132,000) or the House Dems pay former Rep. Robert Frankel ($170,000–the highest paid legislative staffer). The figures were provided in Ted Mann’s 9.24.08 article. Not trying to say anything other than: what’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

What exactly does Scalettar do for $132K?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Don Williams, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, !!! I can’t xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; insanity!

(Mom used to say; “ …when you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all…..”)
