Session Updates

The General Assembly is meeting today, and considering Gov. Rell’s deficit reduction plans among other things. Here’s what’s happening:

  • The bottle bill is back. At issue is a DEP interpretation of the law which basically doesn’t allow distributors access to the money from unclaimed deposits. I honestly don’t feel very sorry for them after the intense lobbying they did to kill the original bill.
  • The renomination of Judge Patricia Swords hangs by a thread in the Senate after approval in the House. Senate Democrats are not supporting her now that complaints that she too often favored prosecutors has surfaced. We’ll see if she returns to the bench.
  • A preliminary look at the deficit bill shows that at least some elements were removed by Democrats.

More as it happens.

The things taken out by Democrats aren’t so interesting as the things ADDED by Democrats. Apparently they are adding spending to a deficit mitigation bill.

    Genius!

I think we wind up paying for it.

A can of Coke ™ in a North Carolina C-store is 69 cents; in CT the same can is generally a buck or so.

  3. Dems shirking their responsibility again. We did get a glance of their economic plan tonight.

    2 things:

1- raise taxes because you know its a revenue problem not a spending one according to them.
2- The Messiah will give one of the richest states in the land a big pot of money over

Why cut anything, the One will save CT from all plagues, disasters and famines.
