Courtney Launches YouTube Channel

In an effort to reach out to constituents, Rep. Joe Courtney has launched a YouTube channel, which you can see at http://www.youtube.com/user/repcourtney. Said Courtney via press release:

“With the advance of new media technology, I want to make sure that my constituents can follow my work wherever they are and whenever they want,” stated Courtney. “Today, news happens in a flash and it is important to me to reach out to my constituents any way that I can.”

Good plan. We’ll keep an eye on it.

  1. And he voted against the bailout!

Btw, I’m still at a loss as to why more elected officials aren’t taking Obama’s lead and intentionally bypassing the MSM.

  2. wait… has the House voted on Obama’s request? I hope Courtney doesn’t flip flop because it’s a Dem Prez.

The bailout stink / stank / stunk… however you cut it.

  3. Yankee Doodle

The House hasn’t, and probably won’t. The TARP law requires both chambers to pass a joint resolution to block the release of the second batch of bailout money. The Senate resolution of disapproval, S.J.Res.5, failed 42-52 this past thursday – making a House vote superfluous.

  4. and a lot of them love it b/c they can talk out both sides of their mouth…

thank the Bailout Senator from Iowa for that ridiculous legislation.

Regardless, I love that Courtney opposed the bailout (twice) and is using new media.
