Scully to Work for Amann

CTNJ and Shelly Sindland both report that Pat Scully is going to work for Jim Amann’s gubernatorial campaign as its communications director.

Scully is well known to Connecticut media, and it’s an interesting acquisition for Amann. Amann is not really the greatest advocate for himself; Scully could help him put his best face forward.

Every Four Years…

Media Attache observes that there is no buzz about a potential Blumenthal candidacy, despite what people were saying last year. This is an excellent point. I heard from several people in the know back in 2007 and 2008 that Blumenthal was really going for it this time. I haven’t heard that recently, however.

Blumenthal seems no closer to announcing his intentions, despite the fact that we are rapidly running out of January. Blumenthal originally promised to announce his plans this month.

  1. Scully could help him put his best face forward.

    Well, that’s easy.

The more I learn about Patrick Scully’s past affiliation with the Catholic League’s Bill Donahue, the more convinced I am that Amann stands more closely with the sell-out Reagen Democrat vote, than he does with anything resembling the 21st century Democratic Party.

Scully, — How could you have supported that intolerant pig Bill Donahue?

And what makes you think you can possibly gain the Dem nomination via an anti-Gay, anti-Choice, anti-minority campaign?

Perhaps Amann’s entire operation is an effort to re-elect Rell…

  3. with the sell-out Reagen Democrat vote

What, exactly, is the “sell-out Reagen [sic] Democrat vote”?

As ACR previously mentioned, you sure are one to talk about intolerance.

  4. Yesterday (Friday, January, 23) at a Meriden Chamber of Commerce breakfast at the same hotel where Ned Lamont held his primary victory party, someone asked Blumenthal his intentions to run.

Blumenthal skirted the question with typical rhetoric, that he hasn’t decided what he is doing, and he will tell us when he so desires.

I asked him about how the billion dollar deficit impacts his office and he responded by saying that his agency brings in $13 for every $1 it spends.

Of course, that’s not counting the expenditures for defending rogue cops.

  5. Dick will be announcing his candidacy as soon as he is certain that neither Rell nor any other Republican will be running. Then it’s off to the races!

    the sell-out Reagen Democrat vote,

A lot of good a Yale education does… lol

  7. Hasn’t Amann made a point of praising Governor Rell’s performance in the past, and in general serving as a rubber stamp for her policies? Considering how much damage the Republicans have done to this state, can we afford a Democratic governor who is unwilling to recognize the errors of the past in order to make improvements in the future?

  8. I have two questions for Scully:

    1) Really? Are you trying to end your political career as quickly as possible?

    2) Are there any rules about the use of the Speaker of the House’s seal on a political website? Especially by someone who isn’t the Speaker of the House anymore?

  9. 2) Are there any rules about the use of the Speaker of the House’s seal on a political website? Especially by someone who isn’t the Speaker of the House anymore?

as far as i know, there is no “official” seal for the speaker of the house in our state. there’s nothing in our statute books about one, and i don’t even know if i’ve ever seen one used. it may have been a seal that they created themselves.

at any rate though, it does look silly to have that seal there.

  10. It doesn’t say Speaker of the House on the website, it says Speake Ouse. Or maybe his head is blocking the L in “Louse”? In any event, it’s amusing that a Google search for Amann governor brings up this site way before the official wite.
