Malloy Announces Bid

Dan Malloy is filing paperwork to create a gubernatorial exploratory committee today in Hartford.

See to read a statement from the Stamford mayor.

Malloy has said that if he runs for governor, he will not run for re-election in Stamford this fall.

UPDATE: In a statement released later in the day, Malloy pledged to embark upon a “…Main Street Tour of every city and town in Connecticut as part of his exploratory initiative.” He intends to visit all 169 cities and towns, and talk to people on the town’s main drag.

Just in case you cared

Also, Paul Bass has an article in the New Haven Independent about the man who beat Malloy, New Haven Mayor John DeStefano, as he weighs his own run. Right now, he’s undecided.
