Poll: CT Backs Obama, Stimulus

Another Quinnipiac Poll out today shows that both President Obama and the stimulus package are popular in Connecticut–though Obama is more so.

Connecticut voters approve of Obama 69% to 18%, and approve of the stimulus 58% – 32%. The public seems to be in a mood to wait for results, 73% think the stimulus will take longer than a year to work.

However, 59% of voters don’t think it will help them personally.

  1. Well this is not surprising – afterall they voted for the schmucks like Dodd who created this economic mess to begin with.
Yes, let’s give this pork package some time and maybe with Hope and some Change it will sprinkle fairy dust on everything and make life good again – but it’s very doubtful.
Funny thing is they still haven’t told us how they intend to pay for this expensive load of crap.
Right now all these brainiacs in Washington are just keeping their fingers crossed because they haven’t a clue whether this will work or not. (It won’t)
What will they do when foreigners are not interested in buying our debt anymore? And how in heaven’s name will our grandchildren pay off this debt? Oh, and what about the rampant inflation that will result from all the money they are pumping into this bubbled out economy.
CT people who responded to this poll as they did are living in a fantasy world of unlimited credit.
Just look at it’s state legislature.
Maybe we’d be in a different place if they actually taught history and economics in CT public schools. (or any American public school for that matter)
    We are truly screwed.

Love the leftward spin there. Actually the most popular in the poll was Jodi Rell — oops, Republican, darn it.

Rell wasn’t in this poll. That was yesterday. Hate to ruin a good fit of self-righteousness…

  4. Rell wasn’t in this poll. That was yesterday. Hate to ruin a good fit of self-righteousness…

It was the same poll: “From February 5 – 8, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,603 Connecticut registered voters with a margin of error of +/- 2.5 percentage points. ” Jodi was question 12. Barack was question 17. Did you notice how the lead of today’s release said:
Connecticut voters approve 69 – 18 percent of the job President Barack Obama is doing, short of the 75 – 19 percent approval for Republican Gov. Jodi Rell, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.
Fit of self-righteousness remains intact! 😉

  5. We did mention Rell’s huge numbers yesterday!

  6. Any MLNers around tonight? Anyone get “crushed” in the stampede to enter the Klein tonight??

  7. Remember in the campaign when the Bridge to Nowhere represented the worst that was with Washington? Now, according to the logic of the stimulus (let the government spend money), would the Bridge to Nowhere be a good thing? After all, we’d be paying Americans to build it. Money would be spent.

  8. Bobby Byrd is the happiest Senator today. With Teddy “He abandoned the sofa in my basement” Stevens gone… Bobby doesn’t need to go halfsies with Teddy.

  9. Remember in the campaign when the Bridge to Nowhere

Speaking of bridges; Steve Collins has a story about some bridge in Bristol that apparently was shoplifted or something (I didn’t read the whole article) and now has to be replaced.

I do kinda wonder how anyone could steal a whole bridge and where would you pawn one anyway?

Both CT Bob and CT News Junkie have stories with photos.
