Republicans Retain Naugatuck Seat

Rosa Rebimbas has won in Naugatuck. Everyday Republican has the results: Rebimbas 1,043, McSherry 965.

This seat was previously held by Republican Kevin DelGobbo, so Republicans hold the seat.

Apparently turnout did pick up a little bit, as soon as the snow stopped. The GOP continues its strong special election track record.

  1. The GOP continues its strong special election track record.

A good candidate and Healy’s famous GOTV operation.

If we ever get the same get out the vote machine to work state wide; CT will be bright red.

  2. Worth noting – every Republican vote cast was by a living person too!

Big, big victory for Healy & Friends. Probably their biggest one yet….

Amazing that the CT GOP took this heavily Democratic district, particularly given the fact that DelGobbo-D, used to regularly clobber his opponents by 4:1 and sometimes 5:1 margins.

I’m exceedingly worried as to what this may portend for 2010 and beyond. Definitely a real game changer for Larry Cafero and his Snivelin’ Thirty-Seven!

  4. I suspect they won’t fare as well in Bloomfield and Windsor…

What does it say for dems? Losing district better than 2:1 Democrat?

I know AS, you ignore facts…

Word from the McSherry camp- Complete and utter SHOCK!!

Cafero’s team proved once again that they are superior when they have the opportunity to run a campaign head to head against their counterparts- without having to compete with the up-ballot mess.

Congratulations is due to Rosa Rebimbas who, by all accounts, is a very bright and hard working young woman. She has big shoes to fill and will be baptized by fire in Hartford but I wish her all the luck in the world.
