Stonington RTC Endorses Simmons

The Stonington Republican Town Committee endorsed former U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons for Senate on Saturday, becoming the first RTC in Connecticut to make an endorsement.

Simmons is a Stonington resident, and said that the town committee “has been the heart and soul of my political support since 1985.”

Simmons is the first GOP candidate to jump into the Senate race.

    This is news?

Can we have a similar diary when East Haddam endorses Dodd?

    Guess you assuming they will?

May be newsworthy how many DTC’s don’t jump on so quick…

Yeah, I’m assuming Dodd’s hometown will give him the respect of an endorsement.

So will every large and medium-sized city in Connecticut.

Happy to bet and take your $$$, dude.

For once, I agree with you.

    This is news?

I doubt that an endorsement for US Senate by a town’s political party makes a difference to anyone. I wonder if anyone is now going to say: “Hey, the SRC endorsed Simmons for Senate, now I will vote for him.”

Obviously this doesn’t hurt anyone, but it is a bit silly.
