Quote of the Day

“I can’t say it any clearer: I will be helping Chris Dodd because he deserves the help.”

–President Barack Obama, on Chris Dodd’s tough re-election fight. Does this mean that Obama will come to Connecticut to campaign for Dodd? I suppose we’ll find out.

Obama also said: “He always has his constituencies at heart, and he’s somebody I’m going to be relying on and working very closely with to shepherd through the types of regulatory reforms we need.”

  1. It’s not at all surprising Obama has cast his vote of approval and support of Chris Dodd – Connecticut and our nation are incredibly well-served by our senator. In these times – we really need Dodd’s experience, skills and Senate leadership strength to get our economy back on track and more importantly set the structure in place to prevent this from aheppening again. Obama has a deep sense of how valuable Dodd really is as they both wrestle with economic solutions every day.
And… it might be real cool to have the Battle of the Presidents – Obama comes to CT to stump for Dodd and Bush 1 and/or 2 makes the trip home to stump for the phalanx of Republican candidates – or maybe just Simmons –
It couldn’t get any better than that …

  2. This endorsement will make it difficult for any to challenge Dodd in a primary. Now it is simply up to Dodd to realize that his presence is a liability and gracefully agree to retire for the sake of his constituents – the ones in Connecticut, that is. All five of them.

  3. Well, okay then. That should just erase all Dodd’s shady dealings, lying about bonuses, moving to Iowa and loss of touch with state voters. If the Messiah is with him, who can be against?

    Was this a serious post?

  5. Don’t worry all , Dodd is going to tell us how he saved the world economy…

why wouldn’t Obam help Dodd, at every opportunity either Dodd or Franks, found ways to funnel money to Obamas favorite shakedown group, ACORN.

  6. Said it before, say it again: Obama will be in Connecticut sometime before Election Day 2010 with Chris Dodd.

  7. Obama also said: “He always has his constituencies at heart, ”

Yes, President Obama – we know he always has Bernanke, Geithner and the good people of Iowa at heart. We don’t question that. We’re just thinking it would be nice to have our own Senator.

Agreed. But by 2010, Obama is probably going to be about as unpopular as George Bush is because they’ll realize he isn’t change, but he’s just another Herbert Hoover messing around with a bad economy thru tax and spending hikes. Having said that, an Obama appearance isn’t going to save Chris Dodd.
