Dueling Dinners for CT State Parties

In addition to the end of the Legislative Session – likely without a budget agreement – Connecticut’s two major parties will host their annual fundraising galas this week.

The Connecticut Democrats will be at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford on Monday, June 1.  The keynote speaker will be Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer, whose 2008 Denver Convention speech has had his stock soaring across the country.

Make your reservation for either dinner (or both!) at www.ctdems.org or www.ctgop.org.

One of the great sidebars to the Prescott Bush Dinner will be the question of whether Governor Rell will attend???

Will she view former Speaker Newt Gingrich too much of a hot potato?

Dean Pagani had a similar mention on this subject in his Media Attache blog a few weeks ago.

Was also kind of curious the CTGOP all of a sudden added Ari Fleischer’s picture on their promotional materials.

I’m betting Lieberman shows up to get his boos on Monday. Why not?

First he’s got to try and get all that boo-ing out of the way, plus it’ll probably gain him sympathy points.

That’s if he has any hope of trying to win the Dem nomination, which might or might not be necessary to his 2012 re-election hopes, depending on whether the CT GOP will lie down for him, as they did in 2006.

…or if the Dems put up another tomato can against him.

What sort of ill informed retorical nonsense is that?

    Yeah, he’s simply hysterical!

The Governor also proudly described how he was able to manipulate law enforcement to effectively threaten and intimidate legally qualified Republican observers out of tribal reservation polling places (affidavit). Lastly, the Governor told a “hilarious” joke about how he instructed county election officials that they should finish counting ballots “when I tell you you’re done”.
