I contacted Rep. Joe Courtney and the “Armada” trade mission to the European Union using Skype today (Saturday 6/6), and recorded our conversation. The trade mission, which began Thursday and will run for two more days, is focused on building connections between Connecticut businesses and EU markets. Anne Evans of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Middletown Office is also on the trip, and reports that having a congressman along has been a real boost for the mission.
The second part of the interview includes two of the other delegation members on the trip who talk about the specific areas that they are working on. Of great interest to me is Jason’s idea to use the port of Bridgeport as a link to Ghana.
I apologize for video/sound quality issues–this was recorded directly from Skype. However, I am pleased to report that there was almost no lag time between here and Europe.
