On Face the State this weekend, Jim Amann went after Jodi Rell, accusing her of seeking popularity instead of making the tough decisions.
He also accused Lisa Moody of being the real governor, saying:
“You have to be there. You have to show up. And you certainly don’t let your chief of staff be the governor of Connecticut.”
A rather surprised-looking Dennis House pressed Amann to clarify, asking whether he was, in fact, saying that Rell’s chief of staff was running the state. Amann replied that there was “no doubt about it.”
He also gives a wonderfully evasive answer to a question of who he supports, a group of firefighters or the city of New Haven in the now-infamous court battle decided by the president’s Supreme Court nominee. The Uniformed Professional Firefighters Association of Connecticut has endorsed him.
