CT Unemployment Report a Mixed Bag

The Associated Press is reporting that Connecticut’s unemployment rate now stands at 8.0%.

The 8 percent unemployment rate is 1.4 percentage points lower than the national rate of 9.4 percent, but 2.6 percentage points above Connecticut’s unemployment rate from May of last year.

The report is a mixed bag for the Connecticut economy, as it notes that the state added 3600 jobs in May – the first time in eight months that the number had been positive.
