Rep. Chris Murphy will report raising $308,000 for the second quarter, according to his campaign. He has raised $715,000 so far this cycle, and has $587,000 cash on hand.
Of course Murphy would have raised a whole lot more, — had he a real opponent!
I was at a Courtney fundraiser this weekend, and it was hard not to crack a smile as Joe talked about what a tough re-election it was going to be. (Against the FIC’s Matt Daly?)
Anyway, I gave the Congressman the minimum, told him I had his back and would give more if somehow a real challenger emerged.
Fact is I’m saving up to help Jim Himes, in the case McKinney or that Greenwich millionaire runs against him.
Larson raises $415,000.
Who is Daria Novak?
I guess she is another unknown Republican running for Congress against Joe Courtney.
I wonder who’ll win at convention, and if there will be a GOP primary.
As if it matters…. Daria for Congress!
Who knew Jim Himes 2 years ago? Elections are won and lost based on the mood of the electorate. If I was a Democrat I would be very concerned right now. People look at Washington and when they’re not happy, they blame the party in power.
Unless this economy turns around, 2010 will be a disaster for the Democrats and most of them don’t even see it coming.
Elections are won only by credible candidates who manage to raise enough money to build a solid organization and to get their message out. Last cycle Ms. Novak had but one contributor, putting her in Lee Whitnum territory.
And if 2010 is such fertile opportunity, why is your CT GOP running candidates like Matt Daly, Boaz ItsHaky, Joe Visconti, Justin Bernier, Daria Novak, etc.?
scooper, if lighting strikes and everyone of the above people get elected, 2 years down the road this thread will be discussing how great they are and how safe their seats are. We will then be asking, who are these no name Democrats that are running for congress?
All the better people are you know.
To suggest that someone like Novak, Daly, Boaz, Visconti, etc. Could ever win a Congressional seat is just pure delusion.
You need a real resume, and then money and organization.
What should gall you GOP’ers is that Healy is fielding such joke candidates, that even if the national winds/trends were to suddenly shift your way, — you’d still have no chance.
Now can someone tell me how much Justin Bernier raised? I’m guessing $100,000 or about half what Cappiello raised in Q2 of 2007.
Scooper, no disrespect to Jim Himes but really, are you going to tell me that anybody knew him before he ran against Shays? Hell, few even know who he is now! He was nothing more than a benefactor of anti-Republican sentiment. All I am saying is that could swing in the opposite direction.
As far as me being insane….You may have a point!
In the CT Senate he penned and championed a bill that impacted exactly one nursing home operator….who in under a week after it’s passage changed insurance agencies to Larson’s handing the now Congressman over a quarter million dollar commission.
That anyone would take a slovenly blogger seriously would be equally guilty.
DeLauro raises $210,000.
Only $82,ooo cash on hand?
Matt Daly raises $26,855.
(that’s in Sean Sullivan territory, who reported $30,800 in Q2 of 2007).
Scooper – there are far more important issues at hand.
She’s simply bad news Scoop.
Forget about her remarks or where she stands on Roe or that she’s probably anti-gun.
She’s an effing Yankee fan!
This can’t be good.
Caligiuri said he’d vote for her, btw.
And that chicken-shit Simmons passed when asked for a position.
Heh. She IS from the Bronx, after all…if she wasn’t a Yankees fan, you’d probably point that out as proof of her unreliability!
BTW, my Mets haven’t lost a game in five straight days now (two wins and the All-Star break helps!)
Heh. She IS from the Bronx, after all…
Yeah – that’s another thing!
Is the Bronx part of the US?
I spent a month there one afternoon, and the whole place seemed pretty foreign to me…..
Justin Bernier’s FEC Rpeort for the Second Quarter was just posted…
Raised $62,334 for the Quarter. He and his wife personally loaned his campaign $12,600.
Has $50,522.06 in Cash On Hand.
