Courtney Speaks on Health Care

Rep. Joe Courtney makes a strong argument for a public option in his opening remarks on health care reform in the House Education and Labor committee. Courtney reminds those members of Congress who are against government-run health care that they all benefit from just that.

I think this is one of the better speeches I’ve seen Rep. Courtney give.

  1. Courtney’s argument: We here in the government are a bunch of tax feeding thieves and it would be wrong not to steal even more and give that stolen money to people who aren’t in the government so they can be tax-feeders, too.

  2. Unbelievable…
Too bad the Government Health care option he enjoy’s is not the one they are proposing for us. What a nitwit!

    From Above article…

“It didn’t take long to run into an “uh-oh” moment when reading the House’s “health care for all Americans” bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of “Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage,” the “Limitation On New Enrollment” section of the bill clearly states:

“Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day” of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won’t be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.”

Way to go Joe! How many Insurance jobs in CT have to be lost, by you helping this facist and socialist medical fiaso being shoved down our throats?

  3. Will Joe and his buddies participate in the health crap plan they plan for us? That’s the real question.

  4. Joe’s right on the money here. Lots of folks like to shoot down the public plan, but you don’t hear much from them when it comes to solutions.

    I love it.

    “Solutions”

    “Health Care Crisis

    What are you talking about?

Why would virtually everyone on the planet either come to the US or to a US based off-shore facility, for serious medical care?

Hear about a lot of folks trotting off to France or Spain for heart jobs or cancer treatment?

    Give it a break.

The only thing those that seek “universal health care” (or for that matter mass transit) really want is total control.

    No thanks.

No, I’m just tired of paying for the millions uninsured who wander into emergency rooms when they can’t foot the bill — and it comes out of my taxes. I’m tired of my premiums going up 10% a year. I’m tired of worrying about leaving my job because it’ll cost me my health insurance.

I don’t know where you’re living, but where I come from, this system is broken.

You’re going to be a lot more than “tired” if Obama and the Democrats pass universal health care. Who do you think is going to pay for it? YOU will and if you’re “tired” of paying for the “millions (of) uninsured” just think how “tired” you’ll be when you have to pay for all of them.

    I don’t think you’ll ever wake up.
