Sen. Dodd underwent surgery today to treat his early stage prostate cancer. Said Dr. Peter Scardino, Chairman, Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center:

“This morning, Senator Dodd had surgery to treat his early stage prostate cancer. The surgery was successful and the Senator is now resting comfortably. He is expected to be in the hospital for a few days. It is anticipated that he will be able to return to full activity within a few weeks.”
